Find out:

Why, when and how SDI is being replaced by IP technology.

The future possibilities of IP technology:

The future possibilities of Sony’s Networked Media Interface IP technology are immense, and look set to truly revolutionise how outside broadcasts are handled as well as impacting on many other areas of production.

  • Sony’s Networked Media Interface enables outside broadcasts to be set up at a venue with a fraction of the cabling and crew previously required.
  • IP production is a lower cost alternative to SDI-based workflows and uses much more commoditised technologies for transmitting very high-resolution images including 4K.
  • The change from SDI to IP has to remain sensitive to current operational practice and, at least initially, continue to incorporate SDI devices within new IP-based systems and IP-based live production workflows.
